Shahriar Fouladi received his Ph.D. in Visual Studies from the University of California in Irvine and has taught courses on film, television, comic books, and more. He is a published author on the superhero phenomenon in film and TV and is the author of the acclaimed novella The Scooter Chronicles: A Southern California Modyssey, published by IDW/Penguin Random House. He is also the editor of several books and graphic novels, including Image Comics’s Son of Shaolin, which had its film rights sold to Sony and Columbia Pictures with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson attached to produce.
He works as the Communication Manager of an entertainment company that produces games and collectibles and the Chief Creative Officer of a small comic book publisher. He is currently working on his own superhero comic book series and a science fiction screenplay. He resides in Southern California with his wife Laura.
